Back in August, we covered Dynamic Yield‘s Series D round Dynamic Yield Raises $32M to Allow Marketers to Make Your Online Experience Truly Personalized. The company has added to that round and taken in an additional $6M in investment including $5M from leading Korean search portal Navers.

Emergency response technology platform RapidSOS has raised $30M in Series B funding from investors that include Highland Capital Partners, Two Sigma Ventures, M12, The Westly Group, Playground Global, Forte Ventures, CSAA Insurance Group, and Ralph de la Vega. Founded by Michael Martin and Nick Horelik in 2013, RapidSOS has now raised a total of $65M in funding over four rounds.

Hospitality technology platform Reserve has been acquired by Resy to become the largest private reservation service in the US. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Force Therapeutics, the technology-powered platform focused on developing applications to address injury rehabilitation, has raised $21M in funding led by Insight Venture Partners. Founded by Bronwyn Spira and Mark Lieberman in 2010, Force Therapeutics has now raised a total of $25.7M in funding over three rounds.

Teamworthy Ventures, which was previously known as Haystack Partners, is raising $80M for its second fund according to a recent SEC filing. To date, there has not been a close yet.  Founded in 2014 by Evan Kaye, Stephen Schmalhofer, and Thomas Lehrman, Teamworthy’s first fund closed at $38M in 2017 and has made investments in companies like Sideline Swap, MealPal, SeatGeek, Boxed, Betterment, Bonobos, and Capsule.  Given the timing of the first fund, we suspect that some of these investments are those of the founding team personally.

Inpher, the privacy-preserving machine learning company, has raised $10M in Series A funding from investors that include Crosslink Capital, JPMorgan Partners (JPMP), Bowery Capital, and Polytech Ventures. Founded in 2015 by Dimitar Jetchev and Jordan Brandt, Inpher has now raised a total of $14M in funding over three rounds.

The AI company that builds flavor profiles for companies, Analytical Flavor Systems, raised $4M in funding led by Leawood Venture Capital and including participation from Global Brain Corporation. Analytical Flavor Systems was founded by Jason Cohen in 2010.

Dormify, the direct-to-consumer e-commerce brand focused on providing bedding and furnishings specifically for dorms, has raised an additional $3.45M in funding led by American Eagle Outfitter. Founded by Amanda Zuckerman, Karen Zuckerman, Nicole Gardner, and Stephanie Kimel in 2011, Dormify has raised a total of $5.6M in equity funding over three rounds.

NYC-based micro-learning content platform Grovo has been acquired by Santa Monica-based Cornerstone OnDemand, a publicly traded learning and human capital management software company for $24M in an all-cash deal. The acquisition represents a tremendous  discount in Grovo from previous valuations given that the company had raised a total of $70+M in funding.

Travel recommendation platform Journy has raised $3.2M in funding from investors that include Menlo Ventures, Pear Ventures, and Caviar. Founded by Leiti Hsu and Susan Ho in 2014, Journy previously raised funding in 2015 in a round led by Arena Ventures and Resolute Ventures.

Cogni, the yet-to-launch banking platform for a digital generation, has raised $1.7M in Seed funding. Founded by Archie Ravishankar, Kam Patel, and Vincent Power in 2017, Cogni is a graduate of the Barclays Accelerator.

Edtech attendance-focused platform Kinvolved has raised $1.5M in Seed funding from investors that include The Draper Richards Kaplan Foundation, Twilio Impact Fund, New York Ventures, Excell Technology Ventures, GingerBread Capital, and u2i. This is the first equity funding round for Kinvolved, which was founded by Alexandra Meis and Miriam Altman in 2012. The company previously raised debt.

Deeptech-focused fund, TechU, has closed $3.2M in its first close for its inaugural fund according to a recent SEC filing.  The total offering amount is for $25M and the filing was initially filed in the fall of 2017. There were 10 LPs in this tranche. TechU has made investments in companies that include Bevi, MultiplyLabs, Ledgerx, and Cyclops.  TechU was initially formed as an angel group and is led by Natanel Barookhian.

Scala Computing, the high-performance computing infrastructure platform, has raised an additional $1.5M in funding. The company was founded by Arjun Kapoor and Shiv Kumar in 2015 and previously raised $750K in 2017.

According to a recent SEC filing, Snooze, has raised $545K in funding in what appears to be a convertible note. The filing lists Saad Shaikh (Uber, Cargomatic, Chariot, BlueSleep) as an Executive. The total filing is for $645K and there were six investors in this first closing.

According to a recent SEC filing, Loftey, the apartment rental platform, has raised $500K in funding. The filing lists Ori Goldman and Corey Lerner as Executives. The filing also indicates that there were eleven participants in this round.

According to a recent SEC filing, Perceptive Things, the startup that provides sensors to detect water leaks, has raised $275K in funding in what appears to be a convertible note. The company was founded by Corey Menscher in May of 2017.
