We keep you abreast of the things that you may have missed in NYC Tech News for the week ending 8/1/26 including the NYC startup fundings, NYC startup exits, and NYC startup events featuring news for CAIS, Genius AI, Harmony, and much, much more.

CAIS – $170M

FINTECH

CAIS is a fintech platform that provides independent financial advisors with access to alternative investments. The company raised a $170M Series D round led by Vista Equity Partners, with additional investment from AllianceBernstein, Blue Owl Capital, Carlyle, Fortress Investment Group, Golub Capital, Lord Abbett, and Royal Bank of Canada. The investment values CAIS at over $2 billion. CAIS was founded by Matt Brown and Jeremy Norton in 2009. The company has raised $600M in total funding.

Genius AI – $44M

AIENTERPRISE

Genius AI, a technology platform that helps in-person service businesses automate scheduling, payments, marketing, and client management workflows, has raised $44M in Series D funding led by Lux Capital with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners, Imaginary Ventures, L Catterton Growth, 2048 Ventures, StepStone Private Ventures, and other existing investors, bringing the company’s total capital raised to more than $125M. Genius AI was founded by Danielle Cohen-Shohet and Leah Cohen-Shohet in 2016. Alongside the financing, the company announced its new corporate name, Genius AI, formerly known as GlossGenius.

Harmony – $34M

AIENTERPRISE

Harmony, an enterprise service management platform that delivers AI-native employee support across IT, HR, finance, procurement, and legal, has raised $34M in Seed funding led by Lightspeed Venture Partners with participation from Hitachi Ventures, Fin Capital, Mercer Ventures, Operator Partners, Assaf Rappaport, and Ofir Ehrlich. Harmony was founded by Nitzan Shapira and Ran Ribenzaft in 2025.

MeridianMade – $20.3M

HEALTHTECH

MeridianMade, a health care company that is building new consumer products, has raised $20.3M in funding according to a recent SEC filing. The filing indicates that there were thirty-six investors in this round. MeridianMade was founded by Ron Belldegrun and Mia Funt in 2026.

Smash Foods – $18M

ENTERPRISE

Smash Foods, a consumer packaged goods brand that makes superfood fruit spreads and snacks sweetened with dates and chia seeds, has raised $18M in Series A funding led by L Catterton with participation from The Family Fund and Eclair Ventures. Smash Foods was founded by Anna Peck and Steven Ford in 2020.

Henry AI – $16.5M

PROPTECH

Henry AI, an AI platform that automates back-office document workflows for commercial real estate teams, has raised $16.5M in Series A funding from investors that include FirstMark, Thomson Reuters Ventures, Y Combinator, Susa Ventures, 1Sharpe Ventures, StoryHouse Ventures, Pioneer Fund, RXR Arden Digital Ventures, Karman Ventures, and Coalition Operators. Henry AI was founded by Sammy Greenwall and Adam Pratt in 2024. Henry AI has now raised a total of $21M in reported equity funding.

Notabene – $11.5M

FINTECH

Notabene is a compliance network that enables regulated institutions to verify counterparties and authorize on-chain transactions before settlement. The company secured $11.5M in funding according to a recent SEC filing. The filing indicates that the total offering is for $20M and there were ten investors in this close. Notabene was founded by Pelle Braendgaard, Andres Junge, Alice Nawfal, and Ania Lipinska in 2020. The company has raised $38.5M in total funding.

firsthand – $10M

HEALTHTECH

firsthand, a mental health platform that supports underserved people living with serious mental illnesses, has raised $10M in funding according to a recent SEC filing. The filing indicates that the total offering is for $32M and there was one investor in this close. firsthand was founded by Andrew Hayek and Samir Malik in 2021.

Pangram Labs – $9M

AI

Pangram Labs, an AI research lab that develops highly accurate detection systems for AI-generated content, has raised $9M in Venture funding from investors that include Menlo Ventures, Haystack, ScOp Venture Capital, Script Capital, and Cadenza. Pangram Labs was founded by Max Spero and Bradley Emi in 2023. Pangram Labs has now raised a total of $13M in reported equity funding.

Kanurra – $6.35M

HEALTHTECH

Kanurra, a pharmacy benefit manager that provides transparent, pass-through drug pricing and administration for small and midsize self-funded employers, has raised $6.35M in Venture funding from investors that include Asylum Ventures, Daybreak Ventures, Virtue VC, Necessary Ventures, Ford Street Ventures, and Browder Capital. Kanurra was founded by Semih Gultekin in 2026.

Cashboard – $5M

FINTECHAI

Cashboard, a financial planning and analysis platform that gives finance teams a governed semantic layer so AI models can automate recurring FP&A work, has raised $5M in Seed funding led by FINTOP with participation from TTV Capital. This brings Cashboard’s total funding to $6.9M. Cashboard was founded by Julian Rowlands in 2021.

Trivora Insurance – $4.6M

FINTECH

Trivora Insurance, a tech-enabled insurance managing general agency that delivers automated underwriting and streamlined broker workflows, has raised $4.6M in funding according to a recent SEC filing. The filing indicates that the total offering is for $8.7M and there were nineteen investors in this close. Trivora Insurance was founded by Farhan Shah in 2024.

Marble Collective – $550K

AI

Marble Collective is an AI platform that centralizes and amplifies the professional profiles and media of women leaders. The company raised $550K in a Venture round. Marble Collective was founded by Kristin Thomas in 2021.

Shelsky’s – $542K

ENTERPRISE

Shelsky’s, a Brooklyn delicatessen and bagel shop that serves hand-rolled, kettle-boiled bagels, smoked fish, and traditional Jewish cuisine, has raised $542K in funding according to a recent SEC filing. The filing indicates that there were twelve investors in this round. Shelsky’s was founded by Peter Shelsky and Rudi Shenk in 2011.
