Robotic process automation startup UiPath has raised a whopping $568M in Series D funding from investors that include Coatue, Dragoneer, Wellington, Sands Capital, funds and accounts advised by T. Rowe Price, Accel, CapitalG, Sequoia, IVP and Madrona Venture Group. The funding comes at a $7B valuation on $200M+ revenue or at least 23x revenue. Founded by Daniel Dines, Marius Tirca in 2005, UiPath has now raised a total of $1.02B in reported equity funding.

Spot.IM, the community building platform for digital publishers, has raised $25M in Series D funding from investors that include Insight Partners, AltaIR Capital, WGI Group, Cerca Partners, and Norma Investment. Founded by Ishay Green, Nadav Shoval, and Roee Goldberg in 2012, Spot.IM has now raised a total of $63M in reported equity funding.

Finitive, the fintech platform that provides access to alternative lending opportunities to institutional investors, has raised $6M in Seed funding from investors that include Atomic and Ninepoint Partners. Finitive was founded by Caroline Hayes, Christopher Johnson, George Kaouris, Jon Barlow, Mark Whitehead, Raman Kannan in 2017. We exclusively first reported this round back in December when Finitive had closed $5M.

Digital video news network Cheddar was acquired by Altice USA for $200M.

WorldCover, the insurance platform for smallholder farmers in developing countries, raised $6M in Series A funding led MS&AD Ventures, along with Y Combinator, Western Technology Investment, and EchoVC Partners. WorldCover was founded in 2015 by Christopher Sheehan and Shiliang Tang.

The latest venture capital firm news for the last two week of April – The NYC Venture Capital News Digest: 5/1/19

Better PT, the marketplace for physical therapy services, has raised $5M in Series A funding from investors that include 5Lion Ventures and Hospital for Special Surgery. Founded by Greg Peters and Stephen Fealy, MD in 2016, Better PT has now raised a total of $8M in reported equity funding.

Confiant, the adtech solution looking to rid programmatic advertising of malware, has raised $4.1M in Series A funding from investors that include Rubicon Venture Capital and River Bay Investments. Founded by Jerome Dangu and Louis-David Mangin in 2013, Confiant has now raised a total of $6.5M in reported equity funding.

Flume Health, the health tech payment solution for self-insured plans, has raised $4.05M in Seed funding. Full coverage in our exclusive interview with cofounder and CEO Cedric Kovacs-Johnson – Flume Health’s Seed round.

Small Door, the soon to be launching chain of veterinary clinics, has raised $3.5M in Seed funding from investors that include Lerer Hippeau, Primary Venture Partners, Brand Foundry Ventures, Nat Turner, Zach Weinberg, David Gilboa, Nicolas Jammet, Jonathan Neman, Neil Blumenthal, and Nathaniel Ru. Small Door was founded by Florent Peyre and Josh Guttman in 2017.

GameClub, a yet-to-launch mobile gaming platform, has raised $2.5M in Seed funding. GameClub was founded by Dan Sherman (EA) and Oliver Pedersen (Yahoo) in 2018.

Editional, a blockchain-based social app founded by Facebook veterans – Cole Potrocky, Zac Morri, and John Egan– allows anyone to create blockchain digital collectibles, while connecting creators and collectors of these items. Editional has raised $1.5M in a seed round from investor that include ConsenSys Ventures, Digital Currency Group, and CoinFund.

A newly formed entity called Chronosphere has closed $600K in funding in what appears to be a convertible note according to a recent SEC filing. The filing indicates that there were nine participants in the round, which is fully closed, and lists Martin Chen Mao and Robert James Skillington as Executives. Skillington is listed as having worked on several patents for a medical device company called CliniCloud.

Doctor.com, the marketing automation platform for medical practices, has raised $500K in additional funding. Founded by Andrei Zimiles in 2012, Doctor.com has now raised a total of $8.5M in reported equity funding.

Career training startup Careerians has raised $185K in funding according to a recent SEC filing.
