Rent the Runway, the ecommerce platform that allows women to rent clothing and accessories, has raised an additional $20M in funding in what appears to be a bridge round from investors that include Blue Pool Capital, Jack Ma, and Joseph Tsai. The post money valuation for this round is reported to be slightly under $800M. Founded by Jennifer Fleiss and Jennifer Hyman in 2009, Rent the Runway has now raised a total of $196.2M in reported funding over seven rounds.
Prevail Therapeutics, the biotech company focused on treatment of Parkinson’s disease and other neurodengerative conditions, has raised $75M in funding from investors that include OrbiMed, RA Capital Management, Pontifax, Omega Funds, Adage Capital Management, EcoR1 Capital, Alexandria Venture Investments, Biotechnology Value Fund, and Boxer Capital.
According to a recent SEC filing, RapidSOS, the emergency tech service provider bringing 911 to the modern era founded by Michael Martin and Nick Horelik in 2013, has raised an additional $8.6M in funding. Investors in previous rounds include Highland Capital Partners, Motorola Solutions Venture Capital, Dorm Room Fund, Two Sigma Ventures, The Westly Group, Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology – MIT, Responder Ventures, Julius Genachowski, A3-Ventures, Dennis Patrick, and Tom Wheeler. This funding rounds brings the total capital raised to $28.2M over six funding rounds.
Intermedia Labs, the company behind popular trivia app HQ founded by Colin Kroll and Rus Yusupov in 2017, has raised $12.5M in funding according to a recent SEC filing. The filing includes Cyan Banister of Founders Fund and Jeremy Liew of Lightspeed Venture Partners as Directors.
According to a recent SEC filing, frame.ai, the AI-driven platform for intelligent messaging founded by Brandon Reiss, George Davis, and John Gu in 2016, has raised $1.6M in additional funding. Investors in previous rounds include Greycroft, FirstMark, Techammer, and Conversion Capital. This brings the company’s total funding to $3.1M over two funding rounds.
According to a recent SEC filing, Shopshops, the retail platform that connects US retailers with Chinese consumers founded by Liyia Wu, has raised an additional $3.1M in funding. This adds to the $3.05M the company picked up in December.
Eyewear retailer Warby Parker has raised an additional $75M in Series E funding led by T. Rowe Price. Founded by Andrew Hunt, David Gilboa, Jeffrey Raider, and Neil Blumenthal in 2010, Warby Parker has raised a total of $290.5M in funding. The company raised this round on a $1.75B valuation according to reports.
VAST Data, the stealth data and cloud storage startup founded by Jeff Denworth, Renen Hallak, and Shachar Fienblit in 2016 has raised $40M in funding. Investors in the round include Goldman Sachs, Norwest Venture Partners, 83North, and Dell Technologies Capital.
Radiate, the platform that offers leadership and career advice as micro video lessons that was founded by Bloomberg reporter Betty Liu, has raised an additional $975K in funding according to a recent SEC filing. The company previously had raised $875K in the spring of 2016.
According to a recent SEC filing, Tagomi has raised $12.7M in funding. The filing lists Marc Bhargava of Kal Velpuri’s Brainchild Holdings as an Executive and Director. Jennifer Campbell of Union Square Ventures, Craig Shapiro of the Collaborative Fund, Napolean Ta of Founders Fund, and Greg Tusar are all listed as Directors.
Unqork, the insurtech startup that’s focused on improving the application process for life insurance and annuities that was founded by former Metlife executive Gary Hoberman, has raised $5.2M in funding according to a recent SEC filing.
According to a recent SEC filing, Trancendus Technology has raised $2.52M in funding. The filing lists Peter Engleman who just left Tealium and Jason Rosenstein of Portion as Executives and Directors.
The Skimm, the daily email newletter targeted at women, has raised $12M in Series C funding led by GV and joined in by RRE Ventures, Homebrew, Sara Blakely and 21st Century Fox. The company has raised $28.4M over its 6 rounds.
