NYC-based Grailed, the peer-to-peer marketplace for men’s streetwear and fashion, has been acquired by LA-based GOAT Group, the leading marketplace for authentic sneakers, apparel, and accessories. Founded by Gupta, Jake Metzger, and Julian Connor in 2013, Grailed had raised a total of $76.5M. Backers in the company include Index Ventures, Thrive Capital, Simon Ventures, Groupe Artemis, and Marco Bizzarri. GOAT is also an investor in the company, having led Grailed’s $60M Series B round in the fall of 2021. The transaction is expected to close within the next 45 days and the two companies will continue to operate independently.
