Kallyope, the biotech startup focused on understanding the gut-brain axis, has raised $21M in additional funding as an extension to its Series B round from investors that include Polaris Partners, Lux Capital, Two Sigma Ventures, The Column Group, Bill Gates, Illumina Ventures, and Euclidean Capital. The total Series B round is now $87M. The first close was for $66M in February of this year. Founded by Charles Zuker and Tom Maniatis in 2015, Kallyope has now raised a total of $131M over three rounds.

NextGenVest, the New York-based financial advice platform powered by AI for Generation Z to understand their educational finances, has been acquired by New York-based CommonBond, one of the leading tech-enabled student loan platforms. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

According to a recent SEC filing, Finitive, the fintech platform that provides access to alternative lending opportunities to institutional investors, has raised $5M in funding. The filing indicates that there were five participants in the round and that the total offering is for $6.03M. Finitive was founded in 2017 by Caroline Hayes, Christopher Johnson, George Kaouris, Jon Barlow, Mark Whitehead, and Raman Kannan.
