Today, I take a look at the state of venture capital and angel funding during the month of March, both in New York and nationally. Analyzing some publicly available data from our friends at CrunchBase, we break down the national aggregate statistics for all funding deals by stage of funding (Seed, Series A, Series B, and Series C+) including mention of notable rounds.

One Minute Takeaway:

March continued the strong momentum set forth in February with NYC startup funding exceeding $800M for the last month of the first quarter of 2018. Funding in NYC was strong across all rounds with median deal sizes increasing across the board.   Nationally, funding was strong as well exceeding $6.6B. NYC’s share of total national funding continues to increase at most stages.
