TeacherGaming, game development company that expands game-based learning into classrooms worldwide, has raised $1.6M in a Seed round of funding from led by Makers Fund and joined in by Founders Factory for the company’s first round.


WorkMarket, the marketplace for managing contractors and freelancers, has been acquired by ADP, the payroll and human capital management company. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. “The WorkMarket team is thrilled to be joining ADP.  We share the same vision of enabling companies and workers alike to navigate the changing labor marketplace with greater ease, and we look forward to offering our solutions to ADP’s vast client base,” remarked Jeff Wald, cofounder and president of WorkMarket.

 


TimescaleDB, the open-source time-series database optimized for fast ingest and complex queries, has raised $11.4M in Series A funding led by Benchmark Capital with participation from New Enterprise Associates, Two Sigma Ventures, Jonah Goodhart, Matthew Prince, Michael Walrath, Craig Barrat, Peter Reinhardt, Steve Mullaney, Rob Bearden and Spencer Kimball. This is the company’s second funding round to date.

 


Ando, the lunch delivery service started by Momofuku chef David Chang, has been acquired by Uber Eats. The terms of the deal were not disclosed. According to the company website, Ando is shuttering operations effectively immediately. The startup had failed to scale into all neighborhoods in the city and into other locales. This is the first reported acquisition for Uber Eats. Consolidation in the Foodtech space continues.

 


Ollie, the co-living startup, has raised $15M in Series A funding from investors that include Aviva Investors, The Moinian Group, and the Texas Employees Retirement System. The company was founded by brothers Andrew Bledsoe and Christopher Bledsoe in 2012.

 


Fiverr, the online platform for hiring freelancers, has acquired AND CO, the business management platform for freelancers and independent contractors. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. “This decision was born out of a common belief across our two companies, which is that people do their best work when they can control their own destiny. By joining Fiverr, we’re able to unlock even more opportunities to help you focus on doing what you love, facilitating happier, more productive professional lifestyles that are built upon freedom, flexibility and damn good work,” remarked Leif Abraham the cofounder and CEO of AND CO.

 


Cargo, the in-car commerce platform for rideshare drivers to earn incremental revenue, has raised $5.5M in funding CRCM Ventures, eighteen94 capital, Techstars Ventures, Fontinalis Partners, Detroit Venture Partners, Rosecliff Ventures, RiverPark Ventures, and Chaifetz Group. This funding brings the total funding to $7.3M for the company founded by Jasper Wheeler and Jeff Cripe in 2016.

 


Groupdolists, the platform for coordinating how organizations respond to threat events, has raised $1.5M in Seed funding led by Responder Ventures and joined in by Selig Zises and Bruce Blythe. Full coverage of the funding round here –

 


Enertiv, the company deploying submeters and IoT sensors for building operations, has raised $4.3M in Seed funding from Fifth Wall. The company has raised $7.7M over their 8 rounds of funding.

 


Rally Rd., the app letting all income levels buy & sell equity shares in blue-chip assets, has raised $2.6M in a round of Seed funding from undisclosed investors. This marks the first round of funding for founders Christopher Bruno, Maximilian Niederste-Ostholt and Rob Petrozzo.
