FuboTV, the OTT subscription service, has raised $55M in Series C funding led by Northzone with participation from Sky, Scripps Networks and 21st Century Fox. The company has raised a total of $75.5M over 5 rounds of funding.

Augury, the company that communicates with machines, has raised $17M in Series B funding by Hartford Steam Boiler, Munich Re / HSB Ventures and Eclipse. The company has raised $29M over 3 rounds.


charles birnbaum bessemer venture partners

Our friends at Bessemer Venture Partners announced a number of promotions this week within their investment team.  Charles Birnbaum is now a partner in the New York office.  Birnbaum joined Bessemer in 2013 and has lead investments in August Home, Quantopian, OMsignal, Abacus, Bright Bytes, and Main Street Hub.  He also sits on the board of Zopa, United Capital, Fabric, Spruce, and Eave.  An alumnus of Wharton, Birnbaum previously worked in banking and at Foursquare.

Casper, the direct to consumer mattress company, has raised $170M in Series C funding, for a total of $239M raised over 3 rounds. The round of was led by Target and includes the following investors: Irving Investors, Andre Iguodala, Shaun White, Kyrie Irving, Melo7 Tech Partners LLC, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Kevin Spacey, New Enterprise Associates, Lerer Hippeau Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners – NVP, IVP (Institutional Venture Partners), Tresalia Capital.

Freshly, the gourmet meal delivery service, has raised $77M in Series C funding led by Nestle and joined in by White Star Capital, Highland Capital Partners and Insight Venture Partners. The company has raised $107M over 4 rounds of funding.

Gemi, the handcrafted Italian shoe company, has raised $16M in Series C funding led by Burda Principal Investments with participation from Forerunner Ventures, General Catalyst, Accel Partners and Hubert Burda Media. Ben Fischman’s company has raised $48M in 3 rounds of funding.

Mic Network, the news and media company, has raised $6.5M in an undisclosed round of funding from WPP Ventures. The company has $59.5M in 6 rounds of funding.

Pearl Capital, the company providing alternative bank services has raised $15M in a Venture round of funding from Chatham Capital. Founder Abe Zeines has raised $35M over 2 rounds.

CleanCapital, the company helping you invest in solar energy, has raised $4M in Series A funding from Bradley Pattelli, Jon Barlow, and Ron Suber.
