Freshly, the company delivering fresh meals to your door, has raised $21M in Series B funding led by Insight Venture Partners with participation from Jason Finger, Slow Ventures, White Star Capital, and Highland Capital Partners. Founders Michael Wystrach and Carter Comstock have now raised $30M over their 3 rounds.

 


This week we took a look at sum of the largest fundings in NYC in 2016 to date – The 10 Largest NYC Startup Funding Rounds of 2016

Flashpoint, the company keeping you aware of malicious internet activity, has raised $10M in Series B funding. Greycroft Partners led this round with help from Cisco Investments, Bloomberg Beta, K2 Intelligence, TechOperators, Leaders Fund and Jump Capital. The company has raised a total of $15M over their 2 rounds.

Codecademy, the free online school teaching employable skills, has raised $30M in Series C funding led by Naspers with participation from Richard Branson, Index Ventures, Flybridge Capital Partners and Union Square Ventures. Founders Ryan Bubinski and Zachary Sims have now raised $42.5M over 3 rounds.

Refinery29, the media company inspiring the modern woman, has raised a Venture round lead by Time Warner for the company’s sixth round overall. Not including this round of undisclosed funding, the founders Justin Stefano and Philippe von Borries have raised at least $80.4M. Previous investors include Scripps Network, WPP, Hearst, First Round, Lerer Hippeau Ventures, and Stripes Group.

Compliance Science, the service providers for the financial community, has raised $3M in a Venture round for the company’s second round of funding. The founders, Mitchel Kraskin and Michael D’Angelo, have now raised $11.25M to date.
