Site monitoring/realtime analytics startup Chartbeat has raised $15.5 million in Series C funding from investors Digital Garage, Harmony Partners, DFJ, Index Ventures, Jason Calacanis, and Jeff Clavier.
AbbeyPost has been acquired by SourceEasy. Both were part of 500Startup’s Batch 9. As part of the deal, AbbeyPost founder and CEO Cynthia Schames will be moving to SourceEasy’s New York office as vice president of sales.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Artivest, a funding platform that pools the assets of individual investors into single purpose vehicles that invest in both private equity and hedge funds, has raised $15 million in Series A funding led by KKR. Other participants in the round include earlier backers Peter Thiel, Nyca Partners, Anthemis Group, and FinTech Collective.
BlueLine Grid, a mobile messaging platform that’s transforms the way public safety agencies (local, state, and federal) and their employees find, communicate, and collaborate securely with each other, regardless of jurisdiction or geography,has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from In-Q-Tel.
FileChat, whose application allows users to chat about and share documents insider their preferred cloud storage platforms, including Google Drive and Dropbox, has raised $3 million in seed funding from unnamed private investors.
Culinary Agents, a professional networking and job matching site for people in the hospitality industry, has raised $3 million in funding led by strategic investor Metro AG, a global retailer based in Germany that operates supermarkets, consumer electronics stores, department stores, theme stores and more.
ComplyGlobal, a cloud-based compliance platform, has raised $2.5 million in funding led by earlier backer IBCC, with participation from Tribeca Angels.
PureWow, a digital media company specializing in women’s lifestyle content, and featuring localized and interest-specific content, has raised $2.5 million in seed funding. The round was led by Bob Pittman’s Pilot Group, with participation by VaynerRSE, Lerer Hippeau Ventures, Pritzker Group Venture Capital, Melo7Tech, Great Oaks Venture Capital, and Galvanize Ventures.
Cricket’s Circle, a product recommendation site for mothers-to-be and prospective gift buyers, has raised $2.25 million in seed funding, co-led by Forerunner Ventures and LererHippeau Ventures, along with participation from General Catalyst and BoxGroup.
On May 11th, CUPS is celebrating their first anniversary in NYC and are thanking New Yorkers by giving them what we all love: free coffee at locations across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. Like all great love affairs, it won’t last just a day – fuggetaboutit: CUPS will be offering free unlimited coffee for their entire birthday week.
When: May 11th (starting 6am) – May 18th (ending 6am)
The festivities commence with 20+ coffee shops throughout the city offering free-flowing caffeine via the CUPS app. The party continues throughout the weekend with locations changing daily.
In order to attend/drink free coffee you must:
1) Download CUPS app
2) Sign in
3) Walk or run to the nearest participating coffee shop to get free coffee.
4) Follow CUPS on social media. The free coffee shops of the day will be visible in the app and be announced every morning on the CUPS Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook accounts.
*CUPS Birthday Week “free coffee” is available to everyone using the app. Neither a CUPS plan nor credit card information is required to partake.
TechCrunch Disrupt hit NYC this week and the Battlefield winner was… Liquidity, whose Naked Filter might look like any other water bottle, but its filtration system turns any water drinkable.
Speaking at TechCrunch Disrupt, former New York and investor Chris Dixon of Andreessen Horowitz predicted that New York would create 10 $1 billion companies in the next three to five years.
