SYNCANO

Syncano is scalable backend that allows developers to build complex apps with only front-end code. In real time. So developers can go from code to data storage in five minutes. Seriously!

Here’s how:

Syncano helps developers synchronize and scale structured data extraordinarily quickly and in real-time, but it also allows developers to manage users’ access to data, create relationships between data, and store structured data on a secure, scalable, fast solution offered as a cloud service or a Backend as a Service.

Which is why the company was chosen to exhibit at The Summit’s Collision Conference as one of the top 150 startups in the world – by the same team behind The Summit itself.

CEO/CTO Nikolai Fasting tells us why his product is sine qua non

Tell us about the product.

Syncano is a scalable backend that helps developers build complex, real-time apps with only front-end code. We offer developers a toolkit for fast development including a real-time sync API, Admin GUI, visual data modeling, cloud storage, and more.

How is it different?

We haven’t come across another backend that can handle the sophistication and complexity that Syncano can, for the type of apps consumers are expecting.

What market are you attacking and how big is it?

The global BaaS market is growing enormously and quickly. From $216.5 million in 2012, it’s expected to reach $7.7 billion in 2017.

Our target market is the global population of developers – that’s about 18.2 million developers worldwide and 3.5 million developers in the US.

What is the business model?

Customers can find us online and sign up right away for our free 30-day trial. After 30 days, customers only pay for the amount of data they use and the number of users they have – so we grow as they grow, with built-in discounts to scale as they scale

What is your startup attending Summit and what are you hoping to get out of it?

We were selected to exhibit at Collision Conference as one of the top 150 startups in the world – by the same team that created the Web Summit. Having the opportunity to connect with startups at Collision gave us more quality leads and potential partnerships than any event we had gone to. Now, at Web Summit, we’re looking forward to meeting even more potential clients, investors, and partners.

Outside of Summit activities, what are you looking forward to the most in Dublin?

Our team is dispersed among Norway, Warsaw, and New York, so events like these are chances for all of us to spend time with each other and collaborate in the same room – it’s a lot of fun for us. We’re also all big travelers, so travelling the world for work is something we all enjoy – some of us will even be adding a bit of the Irish countryside into our schedules!

What are the milestones that you plan to achieve within six months?

We plan to launch a completely new version of our product with a new Admin GUI based on ReactJS, all versions of our platform stored in and deployed with Docker, an amazing onboarding process, and brand new documentation that is even better than before.

If you could be put in touch with one investor in the New York community who would it be and why?

Bessemer Venture. Like us, they have a strong belief in the future of developer tools.

Why did your startup choose New York?

Besides the burgeoning startup scene and bright minds from all over the world, New York City is a practical location for us. Collaboration between both the American and European sides of our company is incredibly important, and minimizing the time difference and the flight time between offices keeps us more tightly in sync with each other.

What’s your favorite Fall destination in NYC?

Oktoberfest at Radegast.
