The sporting world is changing. As we look forward to a summer of globally renowned events, from the World Cup to Wimbledon, people around the world are looking to make their sporting experience that much more exciting by placing a bet on their favorite events.

However, with so many events going on, it can be hard to keep up with the latest odds and the changes. Thankfully, there are a number of options out there to improve our sports betting experience, from sites like sportsbettingsites.tv to social media. Here’s a look at just how you can keep up to date with the latest sporting events.

Smartphones

Today, more than half of the population in the USA has access to a smartphone, and with apps on the rise, it’s easier than ever to look at the latest sporting odds. Public Wi-Fi can be found almost everywhere, from bus stops to libraries, so there’s no excuse not to get out your phone or tablet and surf those betting fixtures.

Mobile internet

As if free Wi-Fi wasn’t enough, the rise of 4G has revolutionized the mobile Internet. While fourth generation technology has technically been available since 2008, it is only in the last two years that we’re really starting to reap the benefits. With speeds of up to 50mbps available to us wherever we are, we can stream our favorite sporting moments and keep up to date with the latest odds.

Social media

Ten (ok, maybe 15) years ago, you would have to have gone out every morning and buy a newspaper in order to keep abreast of the latest news. Today, however, as soon as news breaks, it’s available to us on social media sites like Twitter. Take, for example, the recent news about Uruguayan footballer Luis Suarez’s nine match ban from international soccer. As soon as it was announced on television, people were taking to social networking sites, which had a domino effect on sports betting sites. Suarez’s regional team, Liverpool, saw their odds slashed for winning next year’s Premier League from 13/2 to 7/1, as soon as the news was announced.

Indeed, sports bettors today even take advantage of expecting the unexpected – one lucky bettor won more than $1,000 after placing a 175/1 bet that Suarez would bite somebody during the World Cup!

With so many news outlets, sports betting sites and mobile Internet options available, is this a growing industry? Bet on it!
