With so much going on in the city’s tech ecosystem, here’s what you might have missed in NYC Tech News for the week ending 1/11. NYC startups raised $169M+ across 11 deals, with updates on NYC startup fundings, NYC startup exits, and NYC startup events featuring news for Cartwheel, Ataraxis, Citizen, and much, much more.


Fundraise Up – $40M

Fundraise Up, a fundraising platform for non profits, has raised $40M in venture funding led by Summit Partners. Founded by Anton Isaykin, Peter Byrnes, and Yuriy Smirnov in 2017, Fundraise Up has now raised a total of $52.1M in reported equity funding.


Citizen – $31.9M

Citizen, the location based safety app, has raised $31.9M in funding according to a recent SEC filing. The filing indicates that the total offering is for $42.5M and there were six investors in this close. Founded by Andrew Frame, Mark Essel in 2015, Citizen has now raised a total of $116.6M in reported equity funding.


Ataraxis – $20M

Ataraxis, an AI native cancer diagnostic platform, has raised $20M in funding according to a recent SEC filing. The filing indicates that there were eight investors in the round. Founded by Jan Witowski and Krzysztof Geras in 2022, Ataraxis has now raised a total of $24M in reported equity funding.

RLTYco – $20M

RLTYco, a provider of commission factoring for the real estate industry and ancillary services, has raised $20M in Series A funding led by Altriarch. RLTYco was founded by Briggs Elwell and Daniel Kennedy in 2021.


Torch Dental – $17M

Torch Dental, a dental supply platform, has raised $17M in Venture funding led by Raga Partners and American Express Ventures. Founded by Drew Werner, Khaled Boukadoum, and Yassine Boukadoum in 2017, Torch Dental has now raised a total of $66.5M in reported equity funding.


Jones – $15M

Jones, an AI-powered insurance verification platform for the real estate and construction industries, has raised $15M in Series B funding led by NewSpring. Founded by Omri Stern and Michael Rudman in 2017, Jones has now raised a total of $38..4M in reported equity funding.


Twentyeight Health – $10M

Twentyeight Health, a digital health platform focused on reproductive and sexual care, has raised $10M in Series A funding led by Seae Ventures. Founded by Amy Fan and Bruno Van Tuykom in 2018, Twentyeight Health has now raised a total of $25M in reported equity funding.

Cartwheel – $8.7M

Cartwheel, a text-to-animation platform, has raised $8.7M in funding according to a recent SEC filing. The filing indicates that the total offering is for $10M and there were sixteen investors in this close. Founded by Andrew Carr, Jonathan Jarvis in 2023, Cartwheel has now raised a total of $14.3M in reported equity funding.


Bevel – $4M

Bevel, an app focused on improving health, longevity, and performance, has raised $4M in funding according to a recent SEC filing. The filing indicates that the round comes from two investors. Founded by Grey Nguyen and Ben Yang in 2023, Bevel has now raised a total of $9M in reported equity funding.


Validose – $1.6M

Validose, a precision dosing data company focused on improving patient medication adherence, has raised $1.6M in funding according to a recent SEC filing. The filing indicates that the total offering is for $2M and there were two investors in this close. Validose was founded by Paul McGrath in 2017.


Findevor – $500K

Findevor, a stealth AI startup, has raised $500K in funding according to a recent SEC filing. The filing indicates that the round comes from a sole investor. Findevor was founded by Tataru Virgil and Alexander J. Valdes in 2024.
