QL Gaming Group, the sports data and gaming platform that operates RotoQL, BetQL, Accuscore, and Tennis Insight, has been acquired by Entercom, the local sports and news audio broadcaster, for $32M in an all-cash deal.  “We are thrilled to be joining the leading sports audio platform, bringing our betting insights and expertise to such a loyal and dedicated fan base,” said Justin Park, Cofounder and CEO of QLGG. “Between our capabilities to make bettors better and the influence Entercom’s platform provides, we can now offer a wholly unique proposition to the sports enthusiast that is second to none.”

Founded by Frank Kim, Mike Shiekman, and Park in 2015, QL Gaming Group had raised a total of $7.1M in total reported equity funding.  Investors in the company include Azure Capital Partners, Boston Seed Capital, CEAS Investments, Karlani Capital, Subversive Capital, Velo Partners, Jere Doyle, Michael Spirito, Todd McSweeney, Oakvale Capital, DonBest, Rob Seaver, Tim McSweeney, Mark Mariani, Paul Beattie, Ralph Topping, and Peter Blacklow.  AlleyWatch covered RotoQL’s first institutional round in 2017 – This NYC Startup Raised $1.2M to Make You the Smartest Fantasy Sports Player.  Park will continue to lead the business. Entercom owns and operates numerous local radio stations including sports-focused WFAN in New York and Radio.com.  This acquisition will allow them to monetize this engaged audience through fantasy and gaming content.

“As the sports betting marketplace continues to grow exponentially, the acquisition of QL Gaming Group is a perfect fit for our unrivaled sports audio platform,” said David Field, Chairman, President, and CEO, Entercom. “Integrating QL’s analytics and content with our sports brands enables us to deliver unparalleled experiences for sports fans. The acquisition builds on our track record of digital growth and further enhances our direct-to-consumer technology portfolio with data and analytics capabilities, while also adding an innovative new subscription offering to our platform.”
