Today, our friends at Techstars NYC are unveiling their latest class. With the pandemic halting all in-person activity, this is the first cohort in the 9-year history of Techstars NYC to be fully remote. This year, the thematic focus of these companies is “Health, Wealth, and Happiness” and this program is led by longtime Techstars MD Jenny Fielding and new Program Manager Tai Hutchinson, who joined Techstars in March. Hutchinson, an NYU and Brooklyn College graduate, comes to Techstars after having worked at the City of Mount Vernon, Girls Who Code, and for the City of New York.
The ten startups will all receive $120K ($20K stipend, $100K convertible note optional) in funding, mentorship from 200+ industry experts, and a network of over 2100 past graduates over the next three months. Past alumni from the New York program include DigitalOcean, ClassPass, Plated, Bluecore, Pilot, GlossGenius, Alloy, and BentoBox. This class showcases startups that cover a range of functions from the future of work to financial inclusiveness.
