CNBC recently released its Upstart100 list of startups to watch for 2018. Among the companies included were 16 NYC Startups. These companies were selected after an open nomination process and must:
- Be Pre Series B
- Have raised no more than $50M
- Been founded after January 1, 2013.
The companies are a testament to the breadth and diversity of the tech ecosystem in New York, spanning across a number of industries. CNBC evaluated the startups on scalability, sales growth, user/customer growth, workforce diversity, access to capital and community, intellectual property, and industry size and industry life cycle stage.
I’ve highlighted the NYC startups (companies that are founded, based, and headquartered in NYC proper) that made the list from 125 NYC nominees and have included some additional information to provide further insight including funding details, year of founding, and links to any applicable AlleyWatch coverage (we’ve covered 11 out of the 16). The companies are listed in no particular order.
