Urban Umbrella, the NYC startup looking to revamp scaffoldings, has raised $1M in funding in the form of a convertible note. Founded by Andrés Cortes and Benjamin Krall in 2016, the company has now raised a total of $2.5M over two rounds.
Lylan Masterman has been promoted to General Partner at White Star Capital. Masterman joined the firm in 2014 and leads the firm’s New York office. NYC startups in the White Star portfolio include TheGuarantors, KeyMe, and Freshly.
HQ Trivia, the live trivia app founded by Vine founder Colin Kroll and Rus Yusupov in 2017, has raised $15M in funding led by Founders Fund.

Wandering Bear, the coffee brand and delivery service, has closed $8M in Series A funding. Founded by Ben Gordon and Matthew Bachmann in 2014, the company has now raised a total of $10.5M over three funding rounds.
Paige.AI, the machine learning platform focused on computational pathology for the treatment of cancers founded by David Klimstra and Thomas Fuchs, has raised $25M in funding.
Reonomy, the commercial real estate data and analytics platform, has raised $16M in funding from investors that include Bain Capital Ventures, MMC Ventures, Barry Sternlicht, Jaws Ventures, Gristedes/Red Apple Group, and MMC Technology Ventures. Charlie Oshman, Guillermo Sanchez, Harlan Milkove, and Richard Sarkis founded the platform in 2013 and the company has now raised a total of $39.4M in funding. Marketing Evolution, the martech platform focused on optimization of campaigns through data, has raised $20.6M in Series B funding from investors that include Insight Venture Partners and Zetta Venture Partners. This brings the total equity funding to $24.6M over two rounds for the company founded by Na Na and Rex Briggs in 2000.
Loris.ai, the data-driven platform for the workplace that assists in handling difficult situations founded by Nancy Lublin earlier this year, has raised $2M in seed funding from investors that include FLOODGATE, Kapor Capital, and Jeff Weiner.
According to a recent SEC filing, InsideRE, has raised $6.25M in funding. The filing lists Robert Gartland, Joel Killion, and William Edward Stringham as executive directors.
Nooklyn, the Bushwick-based apartment and roommate search platform founded by Harley Courts and Moiz Khan Malik in 2010, has pulled in $825K in seed funding led by Patoma.
According to a recent SEC filing, Voltaiq, the battery performance monitoring software solution founded by Eli Leland, Ethan Leland, and Tal Sholklapper in 2012, has raised an additional $4.9M in funding. Investors in previous rounds include Bee Partners, ACRE, and zipdragon ventures. This brings the company’s total reported funding to $6.9M
Attentive, the mobile messaging platform for marketers in ecommerce and retail, has raised $13M in funding from investors that include Bain Capital Ventures, Eniac Ventures, and NextView Ventures. This is the first round of funding for the company founded by TapCommerce (acquired by Twitter) Andrew Jones and Brian Long in 2016,
CultureIQ, the culture management platform, has raised $2.25M in a seed extension round from investors that include Lerer Hippeau Ventures, Founder Collective, and Pritzker Group Venture Capital. Founded by Greg Besner in 2014, the company has now raised a total of $7.5M in funding over three funding rounds. Triller, the AI-powered platform that allows for the creation of music videos, has raised $5M in Series A funding led by Carnegie Technologies. This brings the total funding to $9.5M for the company founded by David Leiberman and Sammy Rubin in 2015.
Honest Buildings, the data-driven real estate project management platform, has raised $8M in a round of Series B funding led by DivcoWest and Oxford Properties Group. The company has raised $39.3M to date.
