Amazon acquired NYC startup Body Labs, the 3d scanning platform for the body. While the terms of the deal were not disclosed, it is has been speculated that the purchase price was between $50-70M. Full coverage:
Reachify, the enterprise business software, has raised $1.2M in Venture funding led by Forerunner Ventures with participation from Beanstalk Ventures, Female Founders Fund, New Enterprise Associates and Commerce Ventures. HYPR Corp., the company securing decentralized access to our connected world, has raised $8M in Series A funding led by RRE Ventures with participation from Mesh Ventures, Boldstart Ventures and RTP Ventures. The company has raised $11.8M in 3 rounds of funding. Full coverage:
This NYC Startup Raised $8M to Decentralize Your Protected Data
Parcel, the last-mile delivery company, founded in 2013 by Jesse Kaplan has been acquired by Walmart. Terms of the deals were not disclosed although a Walmart representative mentioned in a blog post that this acquisition was less in value than recent acquisitions (Jet $3.3B, Bonobos $310M). Frame.io, the online video sharing platform, has raised $20M in Series B funding led by FirstMark and joined in by Shasta Ventures, SignalFire and Accel Partners. Founders Emery Wells and John Traver have raised $32.2M in 3 rounds of funding.
Vestwell, the retirement platform for the RIA community, has raised $8M in Series A funding led by F-Prime Capital Partners with participation from Commerce Ventures, FinTech Collective and Primary Venture Partners. The company has raised $12.5M over 2 rounds of funding.
Radar, the location platform for mobile apps, has raised $2M in Seed funding from Specialized Types, Nitesh Banta, Michael Yavonditte, Michael Katz, Greg Brockman, Fuel Capital, Expa, Brian Goldfarb and Accel Partners. The company has raised $2.5M to date.
Slice Labs, the company introducing on demand insurance, has raised $4.8M in a Venture round of funding led by Munich Re / HSB Ventures and joined in by Plug and Play Insurtech. The company has raised $8.72M in 2 rounds of funding.
Bluecore, the ecommerce marketing company, has raised $35M in Series C funding led by Norwest Venture Partners, with participation from Felicis Ventures, FirstMark and Georgian Partners. The company has raised $63.2M over their 5 rounds of funding.
Grow, the company promoting the Smart Planter, has raised a Seed round of funding of $2.4M led by Resolute Ventures for the company’s first round of funding.
