Andela, the recruiting platform that connects tech talent from the African continent with employers has raised $40M in Series C funding from GV, Spark Capital, Salesforce Ventures, CRE Venture Capital, TLcom Capital Partners, VentureSouq, Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, DBL Partners, and Amplo. Founded by Christina Sass, Ian Carnevale, Jeremy Johnson, and Iyinoluwa Aboyeji in 2014, Andela has now raised a total of $81M over four rounds.
Hive, the fast growing teamwork platform, has raised $4M in an undisclosed round of funding from Rembrandt Venture Partners, Tribeca Venture Partners and Vocap Investment Partners. This is the company’s second round of funding.
Servy, the restaurant intelligence platform providing feedback to operators from customers, has been acquired by Resy. The terms of the deal were not disclosed. Servy, founded in 2014 by Julien Wormser and Robert Edell, had previously raised $840K in funding and its backers include Beacon Funding, Dreamit, FOOD-X, Hanson Li, Nick Kenner, RiverPark Ventures, and SOSV.
Scribblechat, the handwriting-messaging app, has raised $2.75M in a Venture round of funding from BBG Ventures, Golden Seed Angels, Broadway Angels, Halogen Ventures, Benedict Cumberbatch and The Perkins Fund. This is the first round of funding for founder and CEO Eloise Bune.
Hive-IO, the public cloud security solution, has raised an undisclosed amount in Series B funding led by Rally Ventures and joined in by El Dorado Ventures, Osage Venture Partners and Citrix Solutions. The company recently acquired Atlantis Computing in July.
Flont, the marketplace for jewelry as a service that lets you rent fine jewelry, has raised a $3M in funding from C Ventures and Clive Ng. Founded by Cormac Kinney earlier in the year, the company has now raised a total of $5M in funding over two rounds.

SecurityScorecard, the enterprise SaaS platform that rates security risks, has raised a $27.5M Series C funding led by Nokia Growth Partners. Other investors in the round include Moody’s Corporation, AXA, Intel Capital, Sequoia Capital, GV, Boldstart Ventures, Two Sigma Ventures, and Evolution Equity Partners.

CoverWallet, the insurtech startup that provides small businesses with insurance, has closed a $18.5 Series B round led by Foundation Capital with participation from Union Square Ventures, Index Ventures, CV Starr, and Two Sigma Ventures.

Kobalt, the rights management tool for the music industry, has raised another $14M in funding as an addition to its Series D from earlier in the year from Bill Maris. Founded in 2000 by Willard Ahdritz, Kobalt has now raised a total of $219M.
According to a recent SEC filing, Snaps, the conversational platform for businesses to engage with customers through chatbots, voice, and social messaging, has raised an additional $6M in funding. Founded by Vivian Rosenthal in 2009, Snaps has now raised a total of $14.75M.
Neverware, the desktop operating system, has raised $6.5M in Series B funding from Google. Founded by Jonathan Hefter in 2011, the company has now raised a total of $14.08M over three rounds of funding.
Honest Buildings, the project management and procurement platform for building owners, has raised a $13M Series B round from investors that include Thrive Capital, RockPort Capital, The Westly Group, RiverPark Ventures, Navitas Capital, Rudin Ventures , Circle Ventures, Brookfield Property Partners, Bienville Capital Management , C-III Capital Partners, and Greensoil Building Innovation Fund. Founded by and James Roberts in 2012, the company has now raised a total of $31.25M over eight rounds.
Zype, the video distribution platform founded by Chris Bassolino, and Ed Laczynski in 2013, has raised $4.9M in Series A funding from Alpine Meridian Ventures, Entrepreneurs Investment Fund, Partners, Point Nine Capital, Revel Partners, and Runa Capital. The company has now raised a total of $8.5M over four rounds.
