Not to be outdone by Walmart’s acquisition of Parcel today, Amazon has acquired NYC startup Body Labs, the 3d scanning platform for the body. While the terms of the deal were not disclosed, it is has been speculated that the purchase price was between $50-70M.
Founded in 2013 by Michael Black, Eric Rachlin, Bill O’Farrell, and Alex Weiss, Body Labs had raised a total of $13.2M over two rounds. Its backers include Alex Weiss, Bill O’Farrell, Catalus Capital, Eric Rachlin, FirstMark, Intel Capital, Max Planck Innovation, Michael Black, New York Angels, and Osage University Partners.
