Technology has redefined sports and that has personalized the sports experience for fans. The Global Sports Party is a newly launched virtual clubhouse for sports fans. Today we sit down with David Blatt, Founder of the Global Sports Party to discuss his vision. David is looking to build out the team to scale the startup and he wants to chat with you if you’re interested in building the future of how we interact with sports along with the consumer power of sports fans.
Let’s begin. Care to make any sports predictions?
Bingo and yodeling will soon be Olympic sports.
What’s your background?
As a producer, I joined Fox TV Sports before it launched on-air, and I helped create the “attitude” that not only remains part of the Fox Sports DNA but has been adapted across all media platforms. I am a leader in the creative use of sports content on a national level, and I see the Global Sports Party as a way to gather fans and to have the sports world do more in support of their customers.
Your site is kind of vague-anything you can tell us about your business plans?
Not yet. I see a way forward, but I am smart enough to know that I am not smart enough to do this on my own. I will share my business plan with my co-founder/partner and together we will make this work.
What are you looking for in a cofounder?
They must have a brain and a heart. I need someone to put together a team that can take charge of marketing, legal, technology, and sales, but we’ll all be in this together. They can reside anywhere, but no one works alone.
The first line in your site’s “help wanted” ad, “Looking for a Sheryl, Melinda, Oprah…Mark, Elon, or Sergey to be my cofounder/partner.” I see you listed women before men, and that you are okay with someone who is at home taking care of a child or an elderly parent.
Thanks.
Your P.S., “If you contributed to a toxic culture at any other company, please do not bother to contact me.” Is that a bit much?
Look at what went on at Uber. Why was that tolerated for so long? I don’t get it, I really don’t. The Global Sports Party is going to take a big swing at a big target, and I prefer to be associated with people who support, encourage, and inspire.
What is the future of the sports world?
Everyone says, “Sports are tribal,” and they’re right, but every sport is increasingly global. Fans are now consumers of sports that years ago they barely knew existed.
Do you have a place for video games and esports?
Yes. We support players and teams from the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, Nascar, F1, soccer, golf, tennis, big sports, small sports, and emerging sports.
You are battling headwinds, so why launch now?
I think the Global Sports Party is needed more than ever. People are attacking each other over anything and everything. At times it almost feels like America is about to splinter into two countries, and the same can be said about other nations around the world. There are fewer and fewer things people share. Sports are a safe haven. The Global Sports Party is a clubhouse for sports fans.
The oceans are littered with pipe dreams, pitch decks, and failed apps. What makes you think you will succeed?
The Oscars couldn’t hand out the correct envelope, but athletes and teams have storybook finishes on a daily basis. Look, here’s the bottom line. I believe there are ways to grow the sports landscape at the intersection of Amazon, Facebook, Twitter, and all social media. I have an excellent track record as an innovator in sports media, I know the sports industry, I see the trends, and I am convinced my plans for the Global Sports Party will succeed, but I need help.
Seeking Venture Capital?
We are self-funded but will consider raising capital down the road. Right now, we are focused on building traction and building the right team to support the vision.
Must your cofounder/partner have an advanced degree in sports stats?
No, just believe in the potential for the Global Sports Party across the entire consumer and sports spectrum. Once our team is in place, creative new applications will roll out in the near future.
I liked your FAQ #7 on the site.
Number 8 is also pretty good. Number 6 in “Our Demands” speaks volumes.
Are you an intellectual?
Nah.
Care to elaborate?
Nah.
Please.
I can give you 10 reasons why my startup will fail; I have two main reasons why the
Global Sports Party will be a winner: a belief in the power of sports and a trust in sports fans. If I can bring in the right co-founder/partner, this will be a global success and benefit everyone.

I guess on that note, this interview is over. Good luck in your hunt for a
cofounder/partner.
As we say in sports, “Thank you for attending, and please arrive home safely.”
