The New York Digital Health Accelerator recently held its demo day for its fourth batch of HealthTech startups in NYC after an intense five-month program. During the program, six growth-stage companies worked with a number of world class health organizations such as Aetna, Memorial Sloan Kettering, Northwell Health, and NYU Langone Medical Center to validate their product offerings that are focused on improving patient outcomes, reducing costs, and improving healthcare delivery. The accelerator run by the New York eHealth Collaborative and the Partnership Fund for New York City counts startups such as Noom, Allazo Health, Wellth, Sense Health, and Clinigence as previous graduates.

eCaring
Founded by Robert Herzog in 2000, eCaring is a platform focused on providing real time data from the home healthcare setting to patients, caregivers, and providers so that they are able to make informed decisions to better manage care.
The company currently works with MJHS, Beth Israel Medical Center, and The New York Academy of Medicine. eCaring previously went through the city’s PILOT Health Tech program and has raised $3.5M in funding from Ascent Biomedical Ventures and Stephen Jackson.

Founded in Tel Aviv in 2015 by Uri Schatzberg and Eran Ofir, Somatix is a data analytics platform focused on wearables in the digital health setting. The company’s debut product is Smokebeat, an Andorid app integrated with Android smartwatches that’s focused on smoking cessation. Data about smoking habits collected from smoking gestures coupled with an easy to use app creates a program to curb smoking – which creates global cost of $500B in healthcare expenditures and productivity loss per annum.

Healthify
Founded by Dan Levenson, Alex Villa, Manik Bhat, James Corines, Eric Conner in New York in 2013, Healthify is a SaaS platform that helps managed care plans take into account the social needs of patients (food, housing, mental health) to improve outcomes, reduce costs, and improve delivery. Current customers on the platform include Howard University Hospital, Morehouse School of Medicine, Village, Care, and John Hopkins Healthcare.
The company has raised $3M in funding from investors that include Primary Venture Partners, Milestone Venture Partners, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Blueprint Health.

Founded by John D’Amore in 2013 in Massachusetts, Diameter Health is an intelligence platform that mines and analyzes clinical health data, classifying all the data, and then offering predictive analytics for things like readmission risk. The company has previously raised $1.85M from Excelerate Health Ventures.

Founded in February 2016 at Yale by April Koh, Adam Chekroud, and Abishek Chandra, Spring Care uses machine learning and big data to predict potential responsiveness to treatments in the field of psychiatry. Analyzing published research and coupling it with patient data, the company has developed the means to provide patient specific personalized recommendations that will reduce the cost of prescriptions for insurance plans by avoiding ineffective treatment plans.
