During the course of the last three months, Techstars IoT Accelerator based in NYC has been prepping 10 companies for demo day under the leadership of Managing Director Jenny Fielding and Angelia Muller.  The companies received up to $120K in investment, mentorship from over 35 industry professionals, office accommodations for 90 days, and now are ready to be showcased to the world. Different from previous IoT accelerator cohorts within the Techstars umbrella, this class has an exclusive focus on industrial and commercial applications rather than consumer deployment.

dronesmith-technologies

Dronesmith Technologies

VentureBeat recently declared 2017 would be “the year of drones”, going so far as to predict that global simultaneous drone flights would rise from roughly 5,000 today to as many as 20,000.

If that’s right, 2017 could be a big year for Dronesmith. Dronesmith allows drone makers, developers and enterprises to fly drones with an API. Dronesmith further allows those drones to be connected, interoperable, programmable, and capable of providing data in real-time.

galaxy-ai

Galaxy.AI

It’s been said that ASI will either lead to humanity’s extinction or its immortality. Galaxy.AI, an ANI forebear, strikes a blow for the latter by aggregating and comparing medical data across thousands of patients, allowing it to identify high-risk patients, drive earlier detection, and reduce healthcare costs.

urban3d

Urban3D

Let’s talk about concrete! When’s the last time you thought about concrete? Whenever it was, Urban3D is here to change how you think about it next time – at least if you’re a precast or prefab manufacturer anyway. Urban3D provides inventory tracking, quality assurance through material traceability, a labor management tool, and data analytics while reducing costs for the concrete industry.

pillar-technologies

Pillar Technologies

Construction sites just got smart. Pillar construction site sensors provide real time data on emerging risks, allowing site managers to catch problems before they become critical, whether from the jobsite itself or the comfort of their own homes. The sensors can identify potential damage from freezing temperatures, fire, water leaks, and beyond.

fueloyal

Fueloyal

Trucks. They need a lot of fuel – diesel fuel… or as you might know it, liquid gold? Well, your days of diesel fuel pilfering have come to an end, my friend. That’s because Fueloyal is here with a “smart fuel cap” that ensures purchase diesel really enters the truck’s fuel tank… no fuel tank modification required. Fueloyal promises reduces diesel bills of up to $1,740/truck/month.

teq-charging

TEQ Charging

Beyond a generalizable sense of moral superiority, I imagine one of the perks of driving an electric car would be lower costs of recharging your car relative to refueling. That perk just got perkier with TEQ Charging, a smart charger that reduces the cost of charging 90% and oh by the way also increases the charger capacity of each power line by 4-6x.

mosaic-manufacturing

Mosaic Manufacturing

3D printing is about to get a lot more colorful, and a lot more functional. Gone are the days of monochromatic and single-material 3D print outputs – with Palette by Mosaic Manufacturing, you can reliably add color to your creations, and increase the number of materials included in your jobs. Palette is a universal platform that works with existing 3D printer brands.

unioncrate

Union Crate

Smart technology is coming to a green grocer near you courtesy of Union Crate, which promises to help grocery stores eliminate an average of $1.8M in losses per year due to overstock and out of stock items. It does so by analyzing store data on stock levels and sell thru to provide superior product mapping, smart promotions and demand predictions.

 xapix

Xapix.io

Xapix.io is the developer portal you’ve been waiting for. It allows fast and easy integrations across data endpoints into a single API, lets developers stick to their preferred format and style, makes it easier to test and validate before they build, and provides insights into how data is used.

losant

Losant

Hardware is hard. Thankfully, Losant is here to make it easier with its IoT cloud platform for developing the next generation of connected experiences. Losant offers device management and real-time data visualization. Better yet, Losant provides connectivity to new or existing technology, allowing integration with legacy hardware.
