Congratulations to Fred Wilson and Tim Armstrong on the launch of Tech:NYC.  The organization is a non profit advocacy group that addresses the needs of city’s fast growing entrepreneurial and tech community.  By focusing on civic engagement, the organization strives to have a voice within city and state government policies and plans.  Membership in the organization, which is led by Julie Samuels, is open to all companies in NYC.

VTS, the company providing asset managers and leasing teams a platform to track deals, has raised $55M in a Series C round led by Insight Venture Partners with participation from Trinity Ventures and OpenView. This round marks the largest single round in CRE tech history.

Appboy, the mobile marketing automation platform, has raised a Series C round of $20M from lead investor Battery Ventures for the company’s fifth round of funding. Founders Mark Ghermezian, Bill Magnuson and Jon Hyman have raised $42.5M to date.

The ridesharing app, Via, raised $100M in Series C funding led by Pitango Venture Capital. Other investors included Expansion Venture Capital, Ervington Investments, 83North, Hearst Ventures, C4 Ventures and Poalim Capital Markets (PCM). Via has now raised $137.1M over 3 rounds.
