Blueprint Health, the digital health accelerator based in the city, announced its ninth class for its twelve-week program recently. A total of 10 healthcare companies were vetted and selected to receive $20K in investment for the program whose past alumni include startups like Board Vitals, DocDelta, and EnHatch. The program benefits include mentorship from over 200 industry professionals which the accelerator contends is the largest health-specific mentor network. 86% of the accelerator’s previous graduates are still active and 85% of those are generating revenue, which is not easy to do in a capital-intensive vertical. This class features a mixed batch of startups concentrated on leverage technology to improve healthcare delivery, patient outcomes, overall management, and compliance.

TweeQ
Founded by Corinne Paroly and Brandon Paroly, TweeQ is an online portal that addresses the physical therapy and at home rehabilitation space by providing technology-enabled solutions for patient education and compliance. Providers are able to highlight and demonstrate exercises, design custom programs, and track progress. The US outpatient rehabilitation market is estimated to be $19B per annum with a 5% annual growth rate according to US Physical Therapy.
NexHealth
Founded by Alamin Uddin and Waleed Asif, NexHealth is online booking and appointment management platform that can be integrated into a physician’s existing technological infrastructure. Cancellations, rescheduling, reminders are all done through the convenience of a smartphone, eliminating the need for conversations and the corresponding staff time needed at healthcare providers. Founded by Erika Zauner and Jason-Phillip Park, HealthKick is an online wellness and perk platform for employers that provides discounts and wellness services to employees. There are now has 25 partners on its platform that offers discounts including Blue Apron, Find Your Trainer, and Vive.

Founded by Curtis Duggan, Misa Nuccio, and Evan Wilms, Blue Mesa Health is focuses on developing and deploying preventative health solutions for the healthcare market. It’s flagship product, Transform, is a digital diabetes prevention tool and program designed for employers. 50% of adults in the US are either prediabetic or suffer from diabetes and this cost over $245B in 2012 according to American Diabetes Association.
ThriveStreams
Founded by Adrian Cunanan and Ryan Badilla, ThriveStreams focuses on creating collaborative technology-enabled solutions that support mental health and patient well-being. It’s flagship product, ThriveSync is an active monitoring system for patients that, through the use of algorithms and collected data, can predict mental health episode. This information is then shared with health care providers as well as the patient to prescribe appropriate treatment preemptively.
SimplifiMed
Founded by Chinmay Singh and Sharad Mankapure, SimplifiMed is a platform-based solution that enables patients to take photos of their medication labels so that the process of managing medications and interventions is streamlined. The platform works with a variety of EHR (electornic health record) systems, reducing friction for the healthcare provider. Medication management is a significant criterion in determining whether a healthcare organization or provider is considered an accountable care organization (ACO). This designation provides financial incentives to care providers to reduce costs and SimplifiMed is designed to help providers achieve these savings through its solution.

Founded by Jeff Wandzura, Dan Merino, and Nick Rutherford, PatientPrep is an intake system for medical histories that patients are able to fill out before an appointment or visit. This reduces the time spent during an appointment for both the provider and patient and it also eliminates the needs to fill out form manually on a clipboard in a waiting room full of flu patients.

Founded by Laruen Stahl, Sparkite is an online portal for addiction treatment centers and their patients. The platform allows for the creation of customized treatment plans, collaborative support networks, compliance, and goal setting. The cost of drug addiction is nearly immeasurable given the many ancillary effects associated with the disease and anything that addresses prevent relapse is attacking a massive market.
