Karhoo, the 10-month old mobile app for booking a cab, has raised $250M in a Private Equity from unknown investors. In the next 18 months they plan to raise another Billion.
Zype, the business cloud based video platform, has announced a Seed round of $1.6M from Michael Kassan, Evan G. Greenberg, Gordon Paddison, Todd Barrish, Michael Barrett, Geoff Judge, Brian Fitzgerald, John Maloney, Entrepreneurs Investment Fund and Revel Partners.
Kickoff, the Latin America dating app, has raised a $1.6M Seed round from Monashees Capital. This is Clayton Spencer, Alanna Phelan and Jonathan Kieliszak’s first round.
TruMid, the electric corporate bond trading marketplace, has raised a Venture of $25M by George Soros and Peter Thiel. This is CEO Ronnie Mateo’s first round of funding.

Our friends at Decoded Fashion held their annual summit this week in NYC with two full days of non stop programming focused on the intersection of fashion and technology that is driving innovation.
Paddle8, the online auction house, has raised $34M in a Series C round by Rolf Sachs, David Zwirner, Edgar Berger, Eric Fellner, Stavros Niarchos, Jay Jopling, Damien Hirst and Mousse Partners.
Digital Currency Group, the company buiding up the bitcoin industry, has raised an undisclosed amount from Solon Mack Capital, New York Life Investment Management, MasterCard, FirstMark Capital, Transamerica Ventures and Bain Capital Ventures.
NightOwl, your local bar locator, has raised $806.9K Venture from undisclosed investors. Cofounders Kevin Madden and Haig Didizian have raised a total of 2 rounds.
Adaptly, the media tech company focused on advertising on social platforms, announced that Kelley Gott joined the team as Vice President, Head of Strategic Accounts. “Kelley is a proven leader in advertising, media and ad technology across mediums/platforms, including digital, social, traditional media, sponsorships and events,” says Nikhil Sethi, Adaptly’s cofounder, and to whom Ms Gott will report. “We know she will leverage her strong relationships nationwide with brands and agencies so that they understand the extraordinary opportunity that social media platforms give brands to understand and reach their audiences at significant scale.”

HYPR, the company changing the how we interact with influencers, has raised $5M in their Seed round from lead investors Edgewater Capital Investors and Silvertech Ventures, with help from Klingenstein, Fields & Co., L.L.C. and Star Farm Ventures.
