Body Labs, providers of 3-D body shape data, has announced a venture round of $4.1M. Bill O’Farrell has now raised $6.3M total.
The Mayor’s office announced the Computer Science for All: Fundamentals for Our Future which promises computer science education for all public school students by 2025. This is an $81M public-private partnership supported by the Robin Hood Foundation and the AOL Charitable Foundation.
The analytics firm, Peer IQ, has announced a Seed round of $2.5M from investors, John Mack, The Uprising Creative, Fenway Summer Ventures and Victory Park Capital.
Compass, the company changing the real-estate experience, has raised $50M in a Series C funding round from seven investors (Advance Publications, Marc Benioff, Kenneth Chenault, 406 Ventures, Founders Fund, Thrive Capital, Institutional Venture Partners).
Offerpop, a provider of visual user-generated content (UGC) marketing platform, announced that Amir Shub was appointed as the company’s new chief product officer.
Oscar, the technological human-centered health insurance company, has announced a $32.5M Venture from Google Capital. Founders, Mario Schlosser, Kevin Nazemi and Joshua Kushner, have now raised $327.5M over 5 rounds.
CEO of The Better Software Company, Steve Cody, has announced a $750K Seed round, funded by L-SPARK.
The Alliance for Downtown New York announced an expansion of more than 1 million square feet to the free Wi-Fi network. This addition brings the total to more than 3.7 million square feet of coverage throughout the The network is currently utilized by hundreds of thousands of individuals each year.
Mercato, the online grocery store, has announced their Seed round of $1M for founders Michael Mason, Dave Bateman and Bobby Brannigan.
Talkspace, a leader in online therapy, took a stand against social media dependency by installing a massive, 30-ft long fun-house mirror block in Flatiron Plaza to stop New Yorkers in their tracks and get them to reflect on social media usage. The interactive installation showed how social media distorts what’s real and often negatively impacts how ordinary people see themselves and their environment.
Mighty, the company that provides financial support for plaintiffs has announced a $5.3M Series A round of funding. Investors include: Jose Marin, Fabrice Grinda, Corigin Ventures, Vast Ventures, FundersClub, Daher Capital, FinTech Collective, Tribeca Venture Partners and IA Ventures.
Fundera, the company that connects small businesses with great funding oppurtunities, has raised $11.5M in Series B funding. Fundera’s founders Andres Moran, Rohan Deshpande and Jared Hecht were funded by David Rosenblatt, Scott Belsky, Aaron Levie, BoxGroup, First Round, Khosla Ventures, QED Investors and Susquehanna Growth Equity.
DWNLD, the company that is helping you create apps for your company, has raised $12M in a Series A round by Greylock Partners. Founders, Fritz Lanman and Alexandra Keating have now raised $14M total.
Cablevisions Systems, the telecommunications company, has been acquired by Altice for $17.7B.
