Another busy week in NYC Tech with no holiday slowdown edition…
With so much going on in the city’s thriving ecosystem, it is easy to miss some of the happenings in the space. We keep you abreast of a few of things that you may have missed in NYC Tech this week including the fundings, exits, and events.

SeatGeek, a ticket search engine that enables users to find and purchase tickets for live sports, concert, and theater events (and DreamItNY alum), has raised $35 million in Series B funding, led by Accel Capital. Other investors include athletes Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Shane Battier, and Mike Dunleavy Jr., as well as musician/entrepreneur Nas.
Other investors include Causeway Media (led by Boston Celtics CEO and co-owner Wyc Grousbeck), Melo7 Tech Partners, Stanford University Athletics, and Real Networks founder (and Accel Capital partner) Rob Glaser.
Previous backers Mousse Partners and Thomas Lerhman also participated in the latest round.

The Earnest Research Company, a stealth startup that helps customers understand trends around the consumer economy, has raised $3.5 million in Series A funding, led by Greycroft Partners, with Osage Venture Partners, ff Venture Capital, Rincon Venture Partners, and Peak Opportunity Partners participating.

Admittedly, a platform that give students access to the tools they need to find and apply to the right colleges for them – and ER Accelerator alumnus – has raised $1.2 million in seed funding from investors, including Quotidian Ventures, RRE Ventures, Correlation Ventures, Joanne Wilson, and Shawn Byers.
Socure, a New York-based identity fraud protection provider whose social biometric solutions offers identity verification and fraud detection in order to protect against identity fraud, has just raised a $4.3 million Series A round from 34 investors. Previous investors include AlphaPrime Ventures and Abundance Partners.
