The Enterprise Tech Meetup was held at Cooley’s offices in Midtown this past Wednesday, and the format was a return to the usual four presentations rather than the judging format of last month.
CrowdProcess
CrowdProcess uses the advances made by modern web browsers and HTML5 to turn other computers into a networked supercomputer. The processing power is distributed to the computers through their browsers, and the data computed is kept within secure firewalls. Developers send calculations to the platform, which greatly reduces the time needed to finish processing them. Hour-long computations can be deducted within seconds, and any web apps can also be integrated within the platform. It can even handle computations with data housed in excel spreadsheets!

Nodejitsu
Focused around node.js, server-side javascript, Nodejitsu is a sort of “GitHub for production javascript.” Nodejitsu manages node.js code, and works with developers on the extra hoops that go along with making sure that the code runs smoothly. The site also helps them store private code, and developers can publish their apps to nodejitsu for secure storage.
BitGlass
Keeping corporate data safe on employee devices, BitGlass is proxy software standing between devices and company servers. It can control who accesses what data, and can watermark documents to track them without the need for extra programs. Devices can have all their corporate data wiped remotely, and alerts can be set for unauthorized data access.
VerbalizeIt
A NY Tech Meetup Veteran, VerbalizeIt is a cloud-based platform for businesses to work with translators from a global network. Over 19,000 translators are available in dozens of languages, to accommodate apps and media transitioning into an international presence. The company prides itself on bringing the human element of translation into the enterprise, enabling users to avoid machine-based translation. Users can select past translators from a list of preferred clients, and can edit a glossary for certain words to be translated a specific way. Final translations are reviewed for quality, and as a result, translators are rated on a sliding scale.
